Top Knobs, a leading manufacturer of decorative kitchen and bath hardware, has partnered with Sunshine on a Ranney Day since 2022 to help the nonprofit transform spaces to better suit children with special needs.

Through the generous support of such partners and donors, Sunshine on a Ranney Day has been able to create accessible bathrooms, bedrooms, in-home therapy rooms and more at no cost to families. Since its founding in 2012, the nonprofit has completed projects for more than 220 families.

“Top Knobs is deeply honored to be involved in these life-changing projects,” states Christine Zimmer, Senior Director of Decorative Hardware. “Sunshine on a Ranney Day has the ability to change the lives of not just the children, but also the dedicated families who deserve all the support they can receive.”

From dream bedrooms and bathrooms to therapy spaces and complete renovations, Top Knobs has provided decorative hardware for a number of projects produced by Sunshine on a Ranney Day. One recent project focused on creating an accessible bathroom and bedroom for Damon (DJ), a young boy born with Spina Bifida. DJ’s mother received his diagnosis when she was 24 weeks pregnant and shortly after he was born, the doctors also discovered he has Hydrocephalus. Despite doctors’ prognosis, DJ started walking when he was two years old. Today, DJ is an honor roll student, a passionate gamer and a devoted athlete competing in wheelchair handball, basketball and football.

For this project, Top Knobs provided the Sunshine on a Ranney Day team with the Tapered Bar pull in the sleek Flat Black finish. With over 4,500 styles of decorative hardware, Top Knobs offers a wide range of options in countless styles, finishes and sizes to meet the diverse needs of each child’s project, ensuring a successful outcome that seamlessly fits into each family’s life.

“With our extensive line of decorative hardware selections, we have a style to suit every child who comes through the Sunshine on a Ranney Day program,” says Zimmer. “Whether it’s a classical, modern or whimsical design, every child deserves a space that reflects their unique personality and brings joy into their lives.”
