Thailand’s thriving woodworking and furniture industry will gather at Thailand International Woodworking and Furniture Exhibition 2024 (TIWF 2024), to be held at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre, in Bangkok, Thailand, September 18-20.

TIWF 2024 will be the key face-to-face business and industry platform, to showcase and discuss the latest woodworking and furniture production technology, solutions, materials, trends and sustainability impacting Thailand, and its surrounding Southeast Asian region – all under one roof, and with the support of gold sponsor Ta Chou Industry Co., Ltd.

Hosted by Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, TIWF 2024 also has the support of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).  In addition, TIWF 2024 has been endorsed by 19 international woodworking media from 10 countries, and 34 related industry organizations and trade associations from 9 countries, underscoring its importance as a truly international woodworking and furniture production event that facilitates trade and knowledge exchanges.

To date, TIWF 2024 has received confirmations from more than 190 exhibiting companies from 19 countries, including seven national exhibitor country pavilions from Thailand, China, Germany, Italy, USA, France and Taiwan. More than 350 exhibiting brands will be presented  in TIWF 2024 to over 4,000 attending delegates and trade buyers, coming from across the entire spectrum of the Southeast Asian and international woodworking and furniture production industry sectors.

This three-day international trade exhibition offers exhibitors and attendees with the platform to drive business growth and seek new business opportunities through many of its business activities such as business matching program, networking, technology demonstrations and product presentations.

In addition, TIWF 2024 aims to gather together industry experts, investors, and entrepreneurs to its series of conferences and seminars, to discuss and share global trends, opportunities and challenges in creating and investing in innovative sectors within the woodworking and furniture production industries.

This series of conferences includes a Leadership Forum, touching on topics such as “Opportunities and Overcoming Challenges in the Thai Furniture Industry,” “Evolving Trends in Global Demand for Wood Raw Materials,” “Economic Forest Resource Management” and “Innovations and Future Opportunities in Thai Woodworking and Furniture Industry,” just to name a few.

At the same time, working with its Knowledge Partner, Lanna Thai Plywood Company, TIWF 2024 will conduct a series of carpentry skill masterclasses and DIY workshops, with vocational institutes and woodworking professionals, touching on class subjects such as woodworking and furniture productions, skill upgrades in machinery and tool operations, designs and concepts, materials and methodology, etc.

Thailand’s furniture market is driven by rapid urbanization and rising disposable income. There are well over 2,600 furniture producers in Thailand, with wooden furniture accounting for 70 percent of all furniture that are produced for exports. According to the Thai Furniture Association, Thailand aims to become Southeast Asian’s production and supply hub for furniture productions and supply of wooden components and raw materials.

Thailand’s well-established sawmill industry is actively engaged in the production of lumbers and wooden products. For example, in 2022, the production volume of eucalyptus wood is estimated to be about 78,000 tons, accounting for the highest production volume among timber products, followed by teak wood.

In 2022, the value of Thailand’s fiberboard exports amounted to THB 29.5 billion (nearly $860 million), followed by wood in chips and particles, amounting to 4.4 billion kilograms. Thailand also imported considerable volumes of pulpwood and wood charcoals.

It is against this market and industry backdrop that TIWF 2024 is organized to be the regional face-to-face meeting place that brings together the entire woodworking and furniture production industry and market to network, interact with potential clients, vendors and partners, policymakers, officials and industry players, all under one roof.
