The first Thailand International Woodworking and Furniture Exhibition 2024 (TIWF 2024) premiered successfully this fall at Southeast Asia’s largest exhibition venue, the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.

Held September 18-20, TIWF 2024 was an international face-to-face exhibition and networking platform to connect and do business with the woodworking and furniture industry in Southeast Asia. It provided a regional industry platform for the industry to expand their networks and foster international collaborations.

The event attracted more than 214 exhibiting companies from 20 countries, showcasing their latest technology, machinery, equipment, solutions, materials and know-hows to more than 6,200 trade visitors from 49 countries.

A key highlight of TIWF 2024 was its highly successful “Business Matching Program” that facilitated more than 340 pre-arranged meetings between exhibitors and 70-plus qualified hosted buyers, securing many business and partnership deals and exchanges.

“TIWF 2024 surpassed our expectations!” says John Chan, Regional Director of American Hardwood Export Council, Southeast Asia. “From day one, we experienced a consistent flow of high-quality visitors. We have gathered numerous solid leads. The event also opened doors to unexpected opportunities and provided valuable insights into the markets’ unmet needs—areas where the American Hardwood Export Council can make a significant impact. We look forward to participating in the next edition!”

Echoing similar sentiments, Guo Jinxing, Director of China Foma (Group) Co., Ltd. added, “We, too, have [had a] steady flow of quality visitors throughout the three-day exhibition. Our business meetings were incredibly productive. We met buyers from over 10 countries, and in fact, we did close some deals onsite. The activities at TIWF 2024 clearly set it apart from other events. We will definitely be back for the 2026 edition.”

Along with bringing together key players to share ideas, solutions and innovations, TIWF 2024 hosted a series of conferences and workshops with more than 35 local and international industry experts sharing insights on wide ranging topics on emerging trends, technology, design and sustainability best practices.

TIWF 2024 also served as a “skill-upgrade platform” through the conduct of a series of well- attended carpentry masterclasses and workshops that imparted vocational skills and knowledge in furniture-making fundamentals, woodworking finishing techniques and operation of woodworking power tools and equipment.

The success of TIWF 2024 underscores its commitment to supporting the growth of the woodworking and furniture industry in Southeast Asia. This event serves as a dynamic platform for suppliers, trade visitors, and buyers to network, exchange ideas, and forge new business opportunities.

Wei Jian, General Secretary, China National Forestry Machinery Association (CNFMA), added, “Despite this being the first edition of TIWF, our members' delegation has established many new business connections with local stakeholders as well as benefited from fruitful meetings with TIWF’s supporting associations. We look forward to fostering more partnerships with TIWF, which is a great platform for facilitating our members' business network in Thailand and ASEAN”

To align with the regional Southeast Asian woodworking exhibition calendar, TIWF is being planned as a biennial event, with the next TIWF to take place in Bangkok, September 16-18, 2026. Organizers expect it to be even bigger in scale and size.

Meanwhile, TIWF officials are organizing an international conference entitled “Southeast Asian Woodworking Summit 2025” with the theme “Shaping the Future of Woodworking Industry and Markets in Southeast Asia”

This conference will take place in Bangkok, Thailand November 13-14, 2025, expecting to bring together international experts, governments, industry professionals and businesses to discuss and address key issues impacting the Southeast Asian woodworking industry and market. The conference will also serve as a valuable networking platform, with market and factory tours included in the plans.
