Start-up of the longest continuous press in Asia
Greenply produces first board on new MDF plant from Dieffenbacher
On April 1, Greenply Industries Ltd. produced the first board on its new MDF plant in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The new line is the second MDF project that the Indian wood-based panel producer and the Eppingen-based plant manufacturer have completed together. The first plant was commissioned in 2009.
At 56 meters long, the Dieffenbacher CPS at the core of the plant is the longest continuous press in Asia. Other plant components ordered from Dieffenbacher in 2015 were a fiber dryer, two SGF sifters, a gluing system, forming station—including a scalper with a correction module, a forming line and finishing line with triple diagonal saw, two Lukki storage systems, and a sanding line with cut-to-size saw and exhaust system.
On its new line, Greenply produces 1,400 m³ of high-quality MDF per day. As raw material, mainly fast-growing woods such as eucalyptus will be used.
