KBIS, the largest trade show for the industry, is the go-to fair for showcasing the latest innovations and designs for Kitchens & Bathrooms. The Schattdecor Inc. design team visited the fair to discover what's hot in decors, surfaces, colors, and textures. The feedback from the show was that there was a great deal to see but there were clear, key trends observed.
Functional storage and integrated appliances continue to be significant features in a time when making the most of your space is a must. Jewel-tone, muted solid colors, and natural or matte finishes were featured widely in both kitchen and bath fixtures. Continuing to gain in popularity from 2018, straight woodgrains and horizontally installed, elegant woodgrains were also noticeable frontrunners. Dark solids, stones, and woods are fast replacing the “all-white kitchen” to create an updated modern look that is moody, but still sophisticated and minimal. Matching stone countertops and backsplashes bring texture and visual interest to seamless design. Textile designs have made their way onto countertops and subway tiles, adding a softer alternative to classic wood and stone.
Warm, rich honey tones and elegant woodgrains, like Noce Moscato, bring bathroom vanities and fixtures to a whole new level. These decors look great when paired with up and coming trends, like solid colors in matte finishes and concrete looks. We like it best featured with Loft, a subtle décor likened to architectural concrete that features soft color play and a structured layout.
