Roseburg and PanelArtz Partner to Bring Decorative Composite Panels to North America

Springfield, Ore. – Roseburg Forest Products and PanelArtz today announced a partnership to bring European decorative panel technology to the North American market.

PanelArtz Inc., located in Kent, Wash., operates the first and only fully automated PET lamination facility in North America. Popularized in Europe, PET is an environmentally friendly, low maintenance, protective finish that offers exceptional style, durability, and scratch- and fade-resistance for interior applications. Using state-of-the-art technology, PanelArtz applies a high gloss or super matte PET finish to the surface of composite wood panels for a modern, elegant and sophisticated design aesthetic.

Under the new partnership, PanelArtz PET finishes are now available exclusively from two Roseburg product lines: Roseburg Arreis® MDF, a no-added formaldehyde, recycled, sustainable MDF panel that is highly specified for all types of interior casework, millwork, cabinetry and furniture applications, and Roseburg Duramine® Thermally Fused Laminate decorative panels.

This partnership brings the best of North American composite wood manufacturing capabilities together with the highly sought after European decorative finishes.

“Prior to this agreement, builders and consumers had to rely on imported panels to achieve the sleek, contemporary look only PET finished panels provide,” said Jim Buffington, Roseburg’s Business Director for Composite Panels. “We are pleased to be working with PanelArtz to offer a domestically manufactured, environmentally friendly product that provides superior quality and durability to a North American market with a growing appetite for innovative interior design options.”

According to Rob Kliman, President of PanelArtz, “As we watched the evolution of PET products from overseas, it became apparent that the true success of this product line would be achieved by bringing the manufacturing right to the consumer in North America. This provides the market with greatly reduced lead times, substantially more manufacturing flexibility, improved quality control, and the ability to manufacture with the Arreis brand of NAF MDF manufactured by Roseburg Forest Products in North America. PanelArtz is looking forward to adding the PanelArtz line of decorative colors as well as our Elite High Gloss and Elite Super Matte finishes to the exciting family of Roseburg products.”
