Kelly Shotbolt receives 2017 Brock R. Landry Industry Leadership Award
Kelly Shotbolt of ARAUCO-North America is the first recipient of the Brock R. Landry Leadership Award.
Shotbolt, president of ARAUCO-NA, received the 2017 award at the Chairman’s Dinner at the CPA Fall Meeting, which was held Oct. 1-3 in conjunction with the Material, Technology and Design Symposium in Savannah, Georgia. Surface & Panel magazine co-sponsored the symposium.
CPA Chairman Emilio Ayub of Duraplay presented the award and commended Shotbolt on his vision and his impact on the industry spanning more than 40 years. Ayub noted Shotbolt was integral in bringing together the Canadian and Mexican industries to form a unified North American Composite Panel Association.
Shotbolt served on CPA’S executive committee and board of directors, including two terms as CPA chairman, most recently in 2014. In 2001, he was the first Canadian member to chair the association. His involvement and long-term commitment on significant advocacy and regulatory issues have been vital to the industry’s success.
“Kelly leads with an unassuming charisma and confidence, epitomizing the strong spirit of this award,” Ayub said. “Kelly has made an undeniable impact on this industry. He is a true visionary, and I have been fortunate to call him my friend.”
CPA President Jackson Morrill added: “I cannot think of a more deserving individual to be the first recipient of the Landry Award. Kelly has truly been a remarkable leader, spokesperson and strong advocate for the North American composite wood industry.”
The annual award was created to recognize CPA counsel Brock R. Landry upon his retirement after more than 40 years of significant contributions to the North American composite panel industry. It honors individuals for their outstanding contributions to and leadership in the composite panel industry.
