Joe Caldwell, President of MJB Wood, announces resignation
June 5, 2020
Today, Joe Caldwell announced his plans to retire as President and CEO of MJB Wood Group, after 33 years of service. During his tenure over the last 3 decades, Joe has positioned the organization through growth and transformation as a leader in the wood products industry. Some of his most significant contributions include the expansion of the manufacturing operation in Cedar Hill, Texas and the recent acquisition of two manufacturing facilities in Clio, South Carolina and El Dorado, Arkansas as well as transitioning MJB’s Mexico operation into an industrial wood products-based manufacturing and distribution network in Saltillo, Mexico. Under his leadership, he built the MJB brand into a successful and adaptive business model to support the changing demands of the marketplace.
Joe began his career in sales working for a small manufacturer in Texas selling to the cabinet industry. It was in this role that he developed his passion for manufacturing which served as the catalyst for his vision of MJB today. Joe has also been an active advocate for the industry and has provided guidance and leadership in many associations, most recently as a board member of the Composite Panel Association. He leaves the company in the very capable hands of a high performing team to continue the culture, pride, and passion MJB has built on over the past 45 years.
During the coming months, Joe will transition his leadership to the management team of MJB and complete the sale of minority interests to AC Summit, a Coors family business. We congratulate Joe on his retirement and wish him all the best as he starts this new chapter in his life. He leaves behind a legacy of passion, innovation and commitment to the employees, company and industry he so graciously served.
