Historic 2024 NAFCD + NBMDA Convention Makes its Mark

The 2024 NAFCD + NBMDA Annual Convention made history as one of the largest events ever, with more than a thousand distribution professionals meeting at the New Orleans Hyatt Regency for two full days of professional education and networking October 22-24. With more than 200 companies showcasing their latest products and services in the exhibit hall, this was one of the largest events in this convention’s history.

The convention not only featured more than 200 companies showcasing their latest products and services in the exhibit hall but hosted several amazing speakers who shared insights to enhance business practices. The event also provided entertainment unique to the Big Easy — including a baby alligator photo opportunity and a drum line to start the day. 

Highlights of the event included an economic outlook on the future of the flooring and building material distribution channels from ITR Economics, multiple receptions on the show floor, and a luncheon hosted in collaboration with the Women in the Flooring Industry (WIFI) group.

NBMDA Executive Vice President Michael Wilbur, who attended the convention for the first time this year, was both pleased and energized by the experience. 

"From the expansive exhibit hall to the countless connections, this convention is an absolute must for distribution professionals. Thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to hosting these incredible communities in Chicago next year!" Wilbur said.
