There’s a New, Beautiful Building Going Up in Archdale
• Häfele’s new headquarters will feature a modern, European design
• The expanded office facility includes open office space and a new showroom
• Local architects, project managers and construction companies led the effort
Archdale, North Carolina, USA, August 29, 2016 – As a leading provider of furniture fittings, architectural hardware and electronic locking systems, Häfele America Co. is used to having its products used in a variety of commercial and residential projects throughout the United States. Its latest venture is quite a different story as this one is all Häfele’s doing. Having occupied the same offices in Archdale, NC since 1989, it was time for a refresh and expansion that will position the company for today’s market and beyond.
“Our new building, with its sleek design and updated amenities, will be a dynamic addition to the community—for all who visit and work with our company,” said Paul K. Smith, president of Häfele America Co. “When completed this building will truly represent the inspiration and innovation Häfele is known for around the world.”
Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Archdale since 1989, Häfele America Co. is the largest of 37 Häfele subsidiaries worldwide. The company’s original founder, Wolfgang Häfele actually had the foresight to leave open the grounds which the addition will now be built upon.
“The intent of that open space was always to expand when the time was right,” explains Häfele America Co. co-founder and Corporate Director Ursula Häfele. “This new facility is the embodiment of a dream which began well over 40 years ago when we brought Häfele products to the United States.”
With the addition and renovations, the current, 26,000 sq. ft. two-story building will expand by an additional 18,000 sq. ft. and add a showroom facility to demonstrate a variety of Häfele products for office visitors and guests. The exterior of the new facility will incorporate a great deal of glass and more efficiently make use of natural light. Inside, the building will feature an open office concept to foster employee creativity and collaboration.

Construction on the project will commence immediately and is scheduled to be completed Fall 2017.
