Elliott Savage receives Landry Leadership Award
Elliott Savage, president and CEO of Seemac, is the recipient of the 2019 Brock R. Landry Leadership Award.
The Composite Panel Association presents the Landry Award each year to an industry leader in recognition of his or her contributions to the composite panel industry.
CPA members selected Savage for the award, and it was presented Oct. 7 during the Chairman’s Dinner at the CPA Fall Meeting in Denver.
CPA Chairman Jim Buffington of Roseburg presented the award and commended Savage on his contributions to the industry and his longstanding, unwavering commitment to the association, including his leadership in both CPA and the former Composite Wood Council (CWC).
Savage served as CWC chairman in 1995 and CPA chairman in 2002 and as a CPA Board member since 2006. In addition, he has been an active and vocal participant on many task groups and working committees and has been an invaluable participant in the association’s strategic planning sessions.
While Savage was chairman of CPA, several notable initiatives were introduced that are still making an impact today.
Buffington noted: “Over Elliott’s successful career spanning nearly 45 years, he has been a remarkable leader and strong advocate for our industry. I cannot think of a more deserving individual to receive the Landry Award. I am proud to call him a longstanding colleague but most importantly a dear friend.”
CPA President Jackson Morrill added: “Throughout Elliott’s remarkable career, he has made a personal commitment to supporting CPA and its mission in a manner that reflects his true passion for the industry. We are very fortunate to have leaders like Elliott, and I am personally grateful for his numerous contributions and thrilled that his peers chose him to receive this year’s Landry Award.”
The award was created to recognize CPA counsel Brock R. Landry upon his retirement after more than 40 years of service to the North American composite panel industry.
