EGGER Group continues to strive for sustainable management, recently achieving a remarkable improvement in its sustainability performance in two renowned sustainability ratings. For the first time, EGGER has been awarded the coveted EcoVadis Gold Medal. In the ISS ESG rating, EGGER has once again been awarded Prime Status — as the leading company in the industry.
For EGGER, sustainability commitment goes hand in hand with facts, evidence and the pursuit of continuous improvement. EGGER recently published the sustainability journal VALUABLE, which takes readers on an exciting journey and shows the measures the family company is taking to realize its strategic goals.
“To us sustainable management is not just a phrase,” says Thomas Leissing, CFO and Spokesman for the Group Management. “We have high standards for our sustainability management and our transparent reporting. We are constantly striving for improvement. We are very pleased that we have now succeeded in doing this.”
ESG ratings report a good result
Analyses by external and renowned ESG rating agencies provide valuable insights that give EGGER important indications for achieving its goals and reaching its potential for further improvement. The family company therefore proactively seeks these assessments.
This is the sixth time that the sustainability performance of the EGGER Group has been recognized by EcoVadis, one of the world's largest providers of sustainability ratings. This year, the family company has been awarded the Gold Medal for the first time. This means that EGGER is now among the top five percent of all companies rated by EcoVadis worldwide and across all industries. The assessment is based on 21 criteria, subdivided into the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
ISS ESG is one of the leading rating agencies in the sustainable investment segment. For the fifth time already, it has awarded the EGGER Group Prime Status in Corporate Rating, which is reserved for the best companies in their respective industries. Companies with Prime status are considered sustainability leaders in their industry. In this rating performance was also further improved: EGGER has been named the industry leader in its own sector in the latest ISS ESG Rating.
Valuable sustainability stories
The EGGER Group has high transparency standards for its own business activities and provides deep insights into its own ambitions and the status of achieving goals. Sustainable business writes exciting stories that bring facts and commitments to life. EGGER wants to make these stories widely accessible and is now publishing its new sustainability journal, VALUABLE.
In it, company experts take interested readers on a tour of numerous sustainability projects at EGGER's international plants: For example, readers can visit the construction site of the power plant being built at the St. Johann in Tirol (AT) plant in order to expand the renewable energy supply, learn what product transparency means for EGGER, follow the journey of recycled wood and experience how it is reused in the production of new, high-quality chipboard at the Hexham plant (UK).
The protagonists show how they contribute directly to the strategic focus topics of the EGGER Group in their daily work. Click here to read a digital copy of the journal.
