Forest Hill, MD– The Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), the national trade association for those who make machinery, cutting tools and supplies for the woodworking industry, has selected Dan Bond as its next Executive Director, effective January 1, 2017. Dan follows Fred Stringfellow, who has stepped down as Executive Director but will continue to be involved through the WMMA/Stringfellow Management Group in a strategic capacity.
Bond said, “I am honored to be selected as the next Executive Director of the Wood Machinery Manufacturers Association (WMMA). U.S. woodworking machinery and woodworking tool manufacturers, and the businesses that support them are an essential part of the U.S. manufacturing base. I look forward to contributing to the over 100 year old history of providing excellence in training, research, education, and diverse member programs and services.”
Dan has been busy the past few months getting up to speed on WMMA during the transition. He participated in the recent WMMA Executive Committee Retreat in Orlando, the IWF Management Committee Meeting in Atlanta; and he and Stringfellow conducted member visits to James L. Taylor Manufacturing, Williams & Hussey Machine Company, Air Handling Systems and Taunton Press, and he looks forward to future member visits.
Mr. Bond joins WMMA with over nine years of association management experience in senior leadership roles with the Synthetic Turf Council, Shipbuilders Council of America and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Bond earned his Master of Science in Management from The Catholic University of America and undergraduate degree in Political Science from Furman University. He holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential and is an active member of ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, where he is a Power of A Ambassador and serves as member of the Public Policy Committee and Fly In Task Force.
