CMA Announces 2024 Wood Diamond Award Winners

 Felipe Torres Espino of Torres Espino The Craftsman, in Weslaco, Texas, received the Best Of, Best Overall award at IWF 2024 by the Cabinet Makers Association (CMA) in their 14th annual Wood Diamonds Awards contest.

The winning project, a two-story library space, is “a haven of warmth and elegance, thanks to its rich alder wood paneling stained in soothing, deep tones,” said Espino. “The space feels traditional and refined, with beautiful moldings and trim that show off the craftsmanship in every corner.”

“Soft-close drawers and doors add a modern touch of convenience, while the extensive shelving offers a generous amount of space for books and cherished mementos,” he added. “Black metal railings on the upper floor blend subtly with the traditional decor, complementing without overpowering the room's historic feel. This library isn't just a study space—it's a warm, inviting sanctuary perfect for quiet reflection and enjoyment of the written word.”
