Claridge Products announces official launch of MIX
The MIX Line Enables Specifiers to Create Unique Combinations that Can Define and Promote Their Corporate Brand Aesthetic in a Wide Range of Finishes
Harrison, AR – January 28, 2019 – Pioneering visual display manufacturer and writing surface experts Claridge Products today announced the official launch of MIX, a line of customizable mobile and wall-mounted markerboards composed of wood and metal in a wide variety of finishes and details, according to MIX Product Team Leader Mark Lawer.
Previewed for the contract furniture industry at NeoCon 2018, MIX enables a designer to customize virtually every board-system component – from colors, finishes and writing surfaces to metal trays, bases and accent strips – resulting in a virtually unlimited palette and allowing for effortless transformation of design concept into creation.
“The idea behind MIX is to provide a specifier or space planner the ability to customize an interior with markerboards that help define a strong corporate aesthetic,” Lawer said. “The mix of materials and finishes presents limitless possibilities.”
More than just a markerboard line, MIX was developed in partnership with Q Design, the product-design-and-development branch of Chicago-based Whitney Architects, and was created as a multipurpose visual display furniture line that also can be used for mobile space dividers, biophilic walls or acoustic solutions.
The launch of MIX represents Claridge’s first major design-focused product initiative in the commercial furnishings market. Q Design saw the potential for whiteboards and partitions to be incorporated into true interior architectural projects and thereby enhance the space for which they were specified. Every mobile and wall mounted markerboard has a metal accent strip highlighting the integrated marker rail. This accent piece allows specifiers to tailor the boards to meet the desired aesthetic by choosing from a variety of powder coat colors offered by Claridge.

As an added but very significant attribute, MIX offers designers a sought-after benefit not found in other markerboard solutions: environmentally responsible construction. As an FSC®-certified manufacturer, Claridge uses a proprietary harvesting-and-production process, where in-house craftsmen construct MIX’s solid ash wood frames from portions of trees unaffected by the destructive Emerald ash borer beetle. Claridge uses landfill-destined ash lumber and integrates recoverable material into MIX’s stylishly durable hardwood frame.
