Imola, 19 October 2017. Like every year, Cefla Live 2017 was organised by Cefla Finishing in its LAB for all segment professionals to see the latest technologies in action, exchange and share views, and showcase their expertise and skills for the benefit of all the attending industry operators and specialists.
In this ninth edition of Cefla Live, the main focus was on Industry 4.0. The focus-dedicated area was divided in four steps – the opening one being a presentation of Cefla's design, supervision and efficiency enhancing solutions. In the second step, it was possible to experience a virtual reality environment: visitors could wear a special viewer, and "enter" the workshop to see at close range the production lines where Cefla Finishing machinery's technologies are applied. In the third step, a special area could be visited to acquire an indepth knowledge of two applications: cCloner, the new simulator that can interface with PLC (Programmable Logic Control) systems, allowing processing lines and processes to be configured in 3D, as well as their simulation in order to check compliance with production requirements and prevent inefficiencies in real time; and cTracker, the advanced supervision system (SCADA, Site Control And Data Acquisition) that is fully consistent with the Industry 4.0 standards and can ensure the highest degree of flexibility. cTracker also provides virtual piece tracking – allowing the exact position of the machine within a line to be monitored remotely, as well as line processing parameter adjustment throughout the cycle.
The fourth step concerned the innovations currently being developed by Cefla Finishing. In particular, previews of cMaster and cPerform were presented; these new features will make work processes more efficient and higher-performance, considerably reducing production costs. In particular, cMaster was presented in a demo version applied to a real situation, as a monitoring tool that works in conjunction with cTracker and during processing, can implement direct and remote line control from anywhere in the world.
