Tech and design companies are hurrying to sell businesses such new products as fever scanners, box lunches and office floor-planning apps for social distancing. Will they work?

According to a new article in the New York Times, Truework, an income verification start-up, recently launched new software to help businesses keep track of their workers’ health status.
Architecture/design firm Gensler has a new workplace floor-planning app that generates social-distancing layouts for desks and other office furniture. PwC, a professional services firm, is employing technology that it originally developed to track inventory for a new contact-tracing system that monitors worker interactions so they can be notified in the event of exposure to the virus.
According to the Times report, with companies pressing to figure out how to safely reopen workplaces, makers of everything from office furniture to smart ventilation systems are hurrying to sell them products and services that solve these problems.
